Automatic injection syringe appts. for therapeutic liqs. - with electronic controlled step by step motor
Abstract
Abstract Automatic injection appts. for liqs. is notably intended for the slow injection of a therapeutic prod. into the human body by means of a syringe for a period, longer even than 24 hrs. The appts. comprises a base with a cover. The upper part of the latter has two parallel slots as well as a clip which securely holds the body of a syringe in the horizontal posn. Horizontal columns, under the cover, support a carriage which pushes the piston of the syringe forward. Power is supplied by an electric motor, fed from the mains, the motor drives the carriage through a reducing gear and a transmission chain. A double lever passes through the slots and operates a clutch which grips the transmission belt and drives the carriage forward by a series of steps. A semi-conductor electronic circuit counts the maisn half-cycles; when the number counted corresponds with the number shown by the selector, a calibrated pulse is transmitted to the motor, which turns one step. Counting of the half-cycles starts again from zero until the next pulse is transmitted, and so on. When the injection is completed the carriage comes up against a stop; this switches the motor off and sounds an alarm. The drive is de-clutched and the carriage is quickly brought back ready for the next operation. Appts. is simple, flexible in use and very precise control is obtd. over a wide range of injection speeds.
