Abstract

Abstract Fibre-reinforced, synthetic resin-impregnated hollow bodies, e.g., for the aircraft and space industries, are produced by winding layers around a mandrel that remains part of the final prodt., and consists of a moulded, cured supporting body. Gives very light bodies with a high strength at low cost. Complicated methods for removal of the mandrel are avoided. The hollow body remains functional even after being damaged.
