Abstract
Abstract Intermeshing of a plastic sleeve into the metal casing of a flexible tubular body, by heating the metal casing in contact with the sleeve by high frequency induction to make zone(s) of the sleeve surface plastic whilst in contact with the metal casing. Esp. a pressure is applied to the interior of the plastic sleeve. Partic. for use in flexible pipes for use in submarine conditions where high hydrostatic pressures arise, to give better resistance to crushing and collapse.
