Abstract

Abstract The invention concerns a trailer, having a swinging door (1) in the form of a lever. One arm (11) of the door has at its tip a pivoting joint (13) integral with a moving part of the trailer. During transport the door holds the contents from falling out and is held shut by a catch (2) which can be manually or automatically operated. The door can similarly be opened automatically or manually. In the case a cable (3) attached to the front of the trailer frame passes over a pulley (33) and back over the side of the trailer to a point (14) on the door. When the trailer is tipped, the door is opened leaving the way clear for the load to tip out.
