Vehicle headlamp adjustment device - has plate in beam forming shadow on a screen

Abstract

Abstract An equipment for checking headlamp beam adjustment is mounted on a stand (1) and comprises a lens (2) mounted in a frame (3). A screen (4) is attached to the frame by longitudinal tubes (5). A plate (6) is placed a short distance in front of the screen so that a shadow (7) is formed between them in an enclosed area (8). The beam (10) from a headlamp (9) is directed by the lens onto the plate or screen. The plate is shaped so that correct alignment of the beam results only in complete illumination of the plate, the screen being shaded. Too high a beam illuminates the screen.
