Abstract
Abstract Respiratory tract lavage in living, warm-blooded mammals, using a soln. of a gas contg. molecular O2 in a liq. medium consisting of a satd., perfluoro water-insol., physiologically inert. organic liq. of b.pt. 104-133 degrees/760 mm, pref. 108-121 degrees/760 mm. Specif. claimed is the use of the aliphatic acyclic monoether i-C3G7O-n-C6F13. The process minimises or prevents abnormal pulmonary function or damages to pulmonary tissue or haemorrhage and reduces the problem of residues left in the lungs.
