Decorative composite strip - which can be reshaped at intervals for making automobile trim

Abstract

Abstract Decorative strip, i same by extrusion coating a metal strip having gps. of perforations at intervals between which the coating is not anchored to the core strip. In the unperforated zones the coating can be peeled back to allow the core strip to be reshaped and then secured to the reshaped metal end. The metal strip may be partially coated and then reshaped to obtain a channel or other profile. The coating may be removed or interrupted at intervals where an alternative moulding can be anchored to the metal strip. Pref. pieces of the strip are modified to produce tapered or pointed ends and the coating locally remoulded to secure it.
