Abstract
Abstract Rolling speed of the housing immediately before the cooling section is continuously decreased from the time at which the end of wire enters the cooling section until it leaves it. A sufficient force thus acts on the end to overcome the resistance set up by the water to the passage of the wire. The end does not have to be discarded as when the cooling water is not circulated until the end has passed through the section, and may therefore be used in subsequent drawing.
