Claim 4
Dependent Claim 39 words
The ground plane (20) of claim 2, wherein: each ground shield (28) has shield tabs (29) that project upward so that the ground planes (20) can be situated around the ground lines (12) without causing damage to the lines.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 31 words
The ground plane (20) of claim 4, wherein there are four tabs (29) that are rectangular-shaped, each shield tab (29) being situated at approximately each corner of the ground shield (28).
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 39 words
The ground plane (20) of claim 2 further comprising a connecting tab (21) extending from an end of the ground plane (20) and having a distal end for electrically connecting the ground plane (20) to a series of springs.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 59 words
A header for interconnecting electrical components, the header comprising a plurality of rows and columns of signal lines (14), wherein at least one column comprises at least one ground line (12) situated between two signal lines (14) in the at least one column so that the at least one ground line (12) is coplanar with the signal lines (14).
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 33 words
The header of claim 7, wherein there are at least two ground lines (12) in the at least one column and there are two signal lines (14) situated between the ground lines (12).
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 55 words
The header of claim 7 having a number of rows which is at least 5 and a number of columns which is a multiple of 3, the header having signal lines (14) and ground lines (12), wherein in each column, is a repeating pattern of two signal lines (14) followed by a ground line (12).
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 62 words
The header of claim 7 further comprising at least one ground plane for providing grounding throughout the header, the at least one ground plane (20) comprising: at least one substantially vertically-oriented metal shield section (22) for separating signal lines (14) of adjacent columns; and at least one substantially horizontally-oriented ground shield (28) through which the at least one ground line (12) passes.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 57 words
The header of claim 9 further comprising 12 ground planes (20) for providing grounding throughout the header, each ground plane (20) situated adjacent a column of signal lines and comprising: substantially vertically-oriented metal shield sections (22) for separating the signal lines of adjacent columns; and substantially horizontally-oriented ground shields (28) through which each ground line passes (12):
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 65 words
The header of claim 10 further comprising at least one housing wall (30), in which is situated at least one spring (40) for mechanically connecting the header to an electrical connector and for providing an electrical link to the at least one ground line (12) of each ground plane (20) whereby the at least one spring (40) abuts the at least one ground plane (20).
