Catheter set for plexus anaesthesia
Abstract
<IMAGE> The catheter set has a short catheter (10) which can be pushed onto a steel cannula (11). The short catheter (10) is inserted into the patient's body with the steel cannula (11), nerve stimulation being carried out with an electrical stimulation device, the impulses of which are applied to the cannula tip (17). After reaching the destination, the steel cannula (11) is pulled out and a plexus catheter (30) with a stimulation wire (31) is inserted into the short catheter (10). The stimulation wire (31) is designed at its distal end as a stimulation electrode (32) and at the proximal end it has an electrical connection area (33) which can be connected to a connection device (35) for stimulation pulses. The further advancement of the plexus catheter (30) in the nerve area also takes place under controlled stimulation, so that the most favorable position for the injection of an anesthetic can be determined. <IMAGE>
