Copolymer of hydrophobe modified polyestersuccinimide with high molecular weight and its use
Abstract
Abstract Crosslinked aspartic acid copolymers having hydrophobic ester groups are new. Polyamino acid copolymers comprising at least 75 mol. % of units of formula (I), (II) or (III), including at least 3 units of formula (I) and no more than 20 wt. % of units of formula (II), are new: A = a group of formula A1 or A2: R<1> = R<2>, R<3> or R<4>, at least one being R<2>, at least one being R<3> and at least one being R<4>; R<2> = H, alkali(ne earth) metal or (NR<5>R<6>R<7>R<8>)<+>; R<5>-R<8> = H or 1-22C alkyl, alkenyl or hydroxyalkyl (optionally acylated with 1-22C carboxylic acid); R<3> = R<9> or YR<9>; R<9> = 6-30C alkyl or alkenyl; Y = a chain of 1-100 oxyalkylene units; R<4> = 1-5C alkyl or alkenyl; B = the residue of a proteinogenic or nonproteinogenic amino acid; X = one or more di- or polyfunctional radicals derived from molecular-weight-increasing agents, especially a di- or polyhydroxy compound, a di- or polyamino compound, or amino alcohols, with a linear, branched or cyclic, saturated, unsaturated or aromatic hydrocarbon structure, optionally oxo- or aza-substituted with O or N atoms in the chain.
