Abstract
Abstract The steering shaft (10) has along its longitudinal axis a hollow cavity (11). The cavity opens at the end of the shaft which is associated with the steering wheel. A gas producing charge (30) is inserted in the cavity. The shaft has, at its end associated with the steering wheel, a guide projection (18) containing outlet openings (20).
