COMMUNICATION SWITCHING SYSTEM AND METHOD

Abstract

Abstract Simultaneous communication between different communication systems is accurately controlled. When a request for audio communication is made to a communication terminal (4) from another communication terminal (1) while the terminal (4) is in packet communication, a voice incoming call is generated in a audio channel controller (20). Then the controller (20) outputs a communication terminal state request, which is transmitted to a data base (30) through an information exchange (21). The data base (30) reads out audio communication indication information (AB) and packet communication indication information (PB) both representing the communication state of the terminal (4) and transmits the information (AB) and the information (PB) to the controller (20) through the exchange (21) as a communication terminal state response. Therefore, the controller (20) can recognize the communication state of the terminal (4) and decides whether or not an audio communication channel can be connected to the terminal (4).
