A communicating method for reading video data (88) and sub-picture data (90) from a recording medium (10) formed with a management area (94) on the partial area and a data area (95, 96) on the other area, recorded on the data area (95, 96) with at least one video data (88) and at least sub-picture data (90) and control data (86) capable of being reproduced in the same time zone as the video data (88), recorded with background image of at least one menu information corresponding to various content of said video data (88) to be used in the case of confirming or selecting the content of said video data (88) on the video data (88), recorded with selection item or action item of the menu information as sub-picture data (90) and recorded with the control information of the selection item or the action item of the menu information as control data (86) and externally communicating the same comprising the steps of: reading the video data (88), the sub-picture data (90) and the control data (86) of the data area (95, 96) of said recording medium (10); communicating the video data (88), the sub-picture data (90) and the control data (86) read; and converting the video data (88) communicated into reproduced output and converting the sub-picture data (90) communicated based on the control data (86) read communicated into the reproduced output.
