Device for influencing the oil temperature in vehicle transmissions
Abstract
Abstract A system for regulating the temperature of the lubricating oil in the gearbox of a motor vehicle employs a heat exchanger (3) thermally activated by the engine (1) coolant via a shut-off valve (8) for the initial heating of the oil circulating from the gearbox (4) at cold start. A second circuit for the oil is routed through an oil cooler (5) and both circuits are switched by an electrically operated regulator valve (6) which incorporates a thermostat. Between these two limiting conditions a continuously regulated engine is imposed by the engine or automatic gearbox controller (7) which during normal running responds to one or more of the drive parameters (n,L,G etc.) and temperatures (Tk,Tg) to operate the valves (6,8).
