Method and apparatus for determination of user charges in a subscriber apparatus

Abstract

Abstract The method comprises the steps of receiving call charge data in a mobile phone from a central station and storing the value in a first section (S1) of a memory (SP). The memory has a second section (S2) which contains pre-programmed call type charge classification data such as price per unit considering a basic fee, cheaper rates etc. A controller (ST) reads the call type charge classification data, relates it to the call charge data received from the central station and calculates the actual amount which corresponds to the call. The amount is added to previous call charges and displayed on a screen (A) of the mobile phone. The memory is erasable to enable resetting of the call charges, and can be implemented by a removable chipcard (SIM).
