Abstract
Abstract The laser catheter has a space at its distal end in which the tissue to be removed is received, with subsequent sepn. from the remaining tissue via application of laser light using an optical fibre displaced along the catheter axis. The laser catheter is hollow with its interior receiving a diagnosis device, e.g. an angioscope, an ultrasound catheter, or a laser spectroscopy device with 2 optical fibres respectively coupled to a laser light source and a spectroscopic evaluation stage.
