Abstract

Abstract The camera has a light source (2.5) supplying light to a 2-dimensional scanner for scanning the viewed scene, with a detector (2.14) for the reflected light. An evaluation device (2.4) uses the propagation time to calculate the range of each point within the scanned scene. Pref. the 2-dimensional scanner uses a pivotal mirror (2.2) or rotary prism an imaging lens (2.3) and an optical fibre scanner (2.1) with a rotating mirror (2.8), providing a series of light pulses for the detector (2.14) from each scanned row.
