Abstract
Abstract In a vascular implant for the prevention or elimination of vascular restrictions a tubular body to be inserted into a body vessel includes at least a first nuclide species which has a half life in the range of 7 hours to 7 days and a second nuclide species which has a half life of more than 100 days. Instead of providing a second nuclide species, the first nuclide species may also decay into the second nuclide species thereby providing a high initial radioactivity for a relatively short period and a relatively low radioactivity over a relatively long period.

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim
53 words
Use of at least two radionuclide species, of which one species has a half-life period of between 7 hours and 7 days, and the other species has a half-life period of more than 100 days, to produce such a vascular implant to prevent and/or eliminate vascular constrictions, which implant prevents a subsequent intimahyperplasia.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
13 words
Use according to claim 1 with such radionuclide species which emit soft X-radiation.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
32 words
Use according to claim 1 or 2 with cobalt-55 or manganese-52 or technetium-96 or molybdenum-99 or nickel-57 as the radionuclide species having the half-life period of between 7 hours and 7 days.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
27 words
Use according to claim 1, 2 or 3 with iron-55 or zinc-65 or cobalt-57 as the radionuclide species having the half-life period of more than 100 days.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
25 words
Use according to one of claims 1 to 4 with an additional radionuclide species which has a half-life period of between 50 and 100 days.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
16 words
Use according to claim 5 with cobalt-56 or cobalt-58 or chromium-51 as the additional radonuclide species.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
55 words
Use of a radionuclide species, which has a half-life period of between 7 hours and 7 days and directly or indirectly decomposes into at least one daughter nuclide having a half-life period of more than 100 days, to produce such a vascular implant to prevent and/or eliminate vascular constrictions, which implant prevents a subsequent intimahyperplasia.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
17 words
Use according to claim 7 with a radionuclide species and a daughter nuclide, which emit soft X-radiation.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
17 words
Use according to claim 7 or 8 with cobalt-55 or rhenium-181 or nickel-57 as the radionuclide species.
