Abstract

Abstract A memory card connector with an ejection mechanism 10 comprises an operating rod 15 sliding lengthwise along a side surface of a frame 11 and a cam bar 16 linked to the operating rod 15 intended for the ejection of the card. A spring 17 is attached to an overhang at an inner end of the operating rod 15 and to a mounting member 19 on the frame 11. Because of such an arrangement, the operating rod 15 is forced forward; and at the same time, due to the fact that the mounting member 19 is closer to the center of the connector than an overhang 34 of the operating rod 15, the operating rod is forced to the side surface of the frame 11.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 112 words
A memory card connector comprising a frame (11) in which a memory card (100) is to be received, an ejection mechanism (15, 16) mounted on said frame for ejecting the memory card therefrom, characterized in that said ejection mechanism includes an operating rod (15) movably mounted on said frame (11) and operatively connected to a cam bar (16) pivotally mounted on said frame for engagement with the memory card thereby ejecting the memory card from said frame upon linear movement of said operating rod (15), and a spring (17) connected between said operating rod (15) and said frame (11) for maintaining said operating rod in a non-ejecting position and against said frame(11).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 24 words
A memory card connector as claimed in clam 1, wherein said operating rod (15) is mounted along a side surface of said frame (11).
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 38 words
A memory card connector as claimed in claim 2, wherein said operating rod (15) includes an overhang (34) spaced from the side surface of the frame, one end of said spring (17) is connected to said overhang (34).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 27 words
A memory card connector as claimed in claim 3, wherein said frame includes a mounting member (19) to which another end of said spring (17) is connected.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 24 words
A memory card connector as claimed in claim 4, wherein the other end of the spring (17) is shorter than the one end thereof.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 163 words
An assembly of memory card connectors (10, 10') each of which comprises a frame (11) in which a memory card (100) is to be received, an electrical connector (60) provided for each frame (11), an ejection mechanism (15 and 16) mounted on said frame (11) for ejecting the memory card therefrom, characterized in that said ejection mechanism includes an operating rod (15) movably mounted along a side surface of said frame (11) and operatively connected to a cam bar (16) pivotally mounted on said frame for engagement with the memory card thereby ejecting the memory card upon linear movement of said operating rod (15), and a spring (17) connected between said operating rod (15) and said frame (11) for maintaining the operating rod in a non-ejecting position and against said frame (11) whereby the frames (11) and connectors (120) are stacked together with the connectors opposite one another and the operating rods (15) extending along opposite side surfaces of the stacked frames (11).
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 44 words
An assembly of memory card connectors as claimed in claim 6, wherein electrical contacts (122a, 122a', 122b and 122b') in the stacked connectors (120) are electrically connected to conductive pads (111) of folded over sections (111a and 111b) of a flexible printed circuit (102).
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 32 words
An assembly of memory card connectors as claimed in claim 7, wherein the flexible printed circuit (102) includes further sections having conductive pads (112 and 113) for electrical connection to other components.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 92 words
A flexible printed circuit harness for electrical connection to electrical components (120, 130 and 140) at least two of which (121a and 121b) are in a stacked arrangement, comprising a flexible printed circuit (102) having sections (102a, 102b, 102c and 102d) on which conductive pads (111, 112, 113 and 151) are located for connection to the electrical components, said flexible printed circuit (102) being folded along one of said sections (102c) causing other of said sections (102a and 102b) to be overlapped for electrical connection to the stacked components (121a and 121b).
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 39 words
A flexible printed circuit harness as claimed in claim 9, wherein the parts of said sections, (102b and 102c) containing conductive pads that are not (112 and 113) the overlapped sections extend outside the overlapped sections (102a and 102b).
