Abstract

Abstract More than 100,000 pieces of copies are obtained by maintaining the atmosphere for the photosensitive material, effecting the developing and polishing the surface of the photosensitive material by cleaning in a manner that the degree of oxidation in the surface of the amorphous silicon photosensitive material (SiO/SiC)x and the amount of deposition of the discharge products (mol/cm 2 )y satisfy the relation (1) x ≦ 30 and the relation (2) y ≦ 2.2 x 10 -9 · exp(-2.0x) According to this method, the image is prevented from flowing without permitting the life of the photosensitive material to decrease, and the image can be stably formed for extended periods of time.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 2
Claim 1
Independent Claim 89 words
An electrophotographic method using an amorphous silicon photosensitive material, which comprises main charging, exposing to image-bearing light, developing, charging before transfer, transferring, and cleaning, in such a condition that satisfies the following relations (1) and (2): i.e. x ≦ 30   (1) and y ≦ a· exp(-bx)   (2) wherein x indicates the degree of oxidation of the surface of the photosensitive material (SiO/SiC), y indicates an amount of deposition of a discharge product generated by charging (mole/cm²), a is a number 2.2 x 10⁻⁹, and b is a number 2.0.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 42 words
An electrophotographic method according to claim 1, wherein ozone that is generating during the main charging and the charging before transfer is exhausted, and the surface of the photosensitive material is polished by using a developing toner blended with a polishing agent.
