Abstract
Abstract This invention provides an image processing system comprising devices for producing image signals by scanning an original image, process units for generating video signals by processing the image signals, detector for detecting the coordinates of the original image and controller for storing the coordinate signals from the detecting means and for controlling the process units according to thus stored signals.

An image processing apparatus, comprising: means for scanning an original document; means for designating an arbitrary area in the orginal document, and means for reproducing, on a material, an image within the designated arbitrary area in the original document scanned by said scanning means, CHARACTERIZED by further comprising: means for determining a reproducing parameter in accordance with a position of the designated arbitrary area in the original document and the size of the material so as to reproduce the image within the designated arbitrary area at the center of the material; and means for controlling said reproducing means in accordance with the determined reproducing parameter so that said reproducing means reproduces the image within the designated arbitrary area at the center of the material.

An image processing apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising means for instructing a reproduciong position of the image within the designated arbitrary area on the material, wherein, in a first mode, said controlling means controls said reproducing means in caccordance with the reproducing position instructed by said instructing means so as to reproduce the image within the designated arbitrary area at the reproducing position instructed by said instructing means, and, in a second mode, said controlling means controls said reproducing means regardless of the instruction by said instructing means so as to reproduce the image within the designated arbitrary area at the center of the material.
