Abstract

<IMAGE> Switching device that can be used in at least one network conductor of a medium-voltage or high-voltage network interrupts the at least one network conductor when a certain overcurrent occurs. To simplify and reduce the cost of the switching device, a non-linear resistor with a positive temperature coefficient is connected in series with an electrical switch disconnector, which limits the overcurrent that occurs to current values switchable by the switch disconnector. A short-circuit current can be switched by assigning a load break switch to a non-linear resistor. <IMAGE>
