Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 8
Claim 1
Independent Claim
106 words
An antenna arrangement comprising: a plurality of antenna arrays, wherein each antenna array is
capable of forming separate overlapping narrow beams fixed in azimuth,
a plurality of radio frequency transceivers each for transmitting and
receiving radio frequency signals for one or more calls, and switching matrix means operable to switch each transceiver through the
switching matrix means to any array such that radio frequency call signals
can be exchanged between any transceiver and a mobile station located
in any area covered by the narrow beams; characterised in that means (54; Fig. 6a) are provided for independent
adjustment of the transmitter radiated power level of individual beams.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
23 words
An antenna arrangement as claimed in claim 1 cnaracterised in
that means are provided for independent adjustment of receiver gain of
individual beams.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
34 words
An antenna arrangement as claimed in claim 1 or 2 characterised
in that said means for transmission adjustment comprise separate
controllable attenuating means for each beam coupled between the
switching matrix and the array.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
18 words
An antenna arrangement according to claim 3 including means for
controlling the attenuator means from a remote position.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
19 words
An antenna arrangement as claimed in claim 3 or 4 including
separate attenuating means for transmit and receive beams.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
23 words
An antenna arrangement as claimed in claim 5 characterised in
that said attenuating means are capable of adjustment during operation of
the antenna.
Claim 7
Independent Claim
102 words
A method of operating an antenna arrangement comprising a
plurality of antenna arrays, wherein each antenna array is capable of
forming separate overlapping narrow beams fixed in azimuth, a plurality of radio frequency transceivers each for transmitting and
receiving radio frequency signals for one or more calls, and switching matrix means operable to switch each transceiver through the
switching matrix means to any array such that radio frequency call signals
can be exchanged between any transceiver and a mobile station located
in any area covered by the narrow beams; the method comprising: independently adjusting the transmitter radiated
power level of individual beams.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
22 words
A method as claimed in claim 7 characterised in that the method
further comprises independently adjusting the receiver gain of individual
beams.
