Process for the preparation of fluorobenzonitriles

Abstract Translated from German Fluorbenzonitrile und Chlorfluorbenzonitrile werden in vorteilhafter Weise durch eine Chlor-Fluor-Austauschreaktion aus den entsprechenden Chlorbenzonitrilen und einem Alkalimetallfluorid hergestellt, indem man die Umsetzung mit einer quartären Ammoniumverbindung, die mindestens einen Alkoxypolyoxyalkyl-Rest enthält, katalysiert. Fluorobenzonitriles and chlorofluorobenzonitriles are advantageously produced by a chlorine-fluorine exchange reaction from the corresponding chlorobenzonitriles and an alkali metal fluoride, by catalyzing the reaction with a quaternary ammonium compound which contains at least one alkoxypolyoxyalkyl radical.
