Abstract

Abstract A mobile communication system is provided for increasing the capacity for personal stations and ensuring a radio channel for use with a micro cellular system irrespective of environment in which the system is installed. In the mobile communication system which allows the coexistence of a cellular automobile telephone system (1, 2, 3) and a micro cellular system (4, 5), communications in the cellular automobile telephone systems and the micro cellular systems are performed in a digital form, and a personal station (6) accessing to each of these systems is connected thereto by using a time-division multiplex access mode or a code division multiplex access mode. Since the time-division multiplex access mode or code division multiplex access mode is used, a radio channel at the same frequency can be used by a plurality of personal stations (6). Thus, the capacity of the system can be increased for personal stations (6) without extending a used frequency band.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 66 words
A mobile communication apparatus which allows the coexistence of a cellular automobile telephone system (1, 2, 3) and a micro cellular system (4, 5), wherein: communications in said cellular automobile telephone system and said micro cellular system are performed in a digital transmission form, and a personal station (6) which accesses to either of said systems is connected thereto by using a time-division multiplex access mode.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 25 words
A mobile communication apparatus according to claim 1, wherein a code division multiplex access mode is used in place of said time-division multiplex access mode.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 30 words
A mobile communication apparatus according to claim 1 or 2, wherein separate frequency bands are provided for use in said cellular automobile telephone system and said micro cellular system, respectively.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 65 words
A mobile communication apparatus according to claim 1 or 2, wherein a common frequency band is used in said cellular automobile telephone system (1, 2, 3) and said micro cellular system (4, 5), and said personal station (6) accessing to said micro cellular system is assigned a radio channel which is not being used by said cellular automobile telephone system located near said personal station.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 97 words
A mobile communication apparatus comprising: a base station (3) forming an area of a cellular automobile telephone system (1, 2, 3); a fixed station (5) forming an area of a micro cellular system (4, 5); and personal stations (6) each for accessing to said cellular automobile telephone system or said micro cellular system through said base station or said fixed station, wherein said fixed station is provided with modulation/demodulation means employing a code division multiplex access mode so as to enable said single fixed station to be connected by radio to a plurality of said personal station.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 40 words
A mobile communication apparatus according to claim 5, wherein said fixed station (5) is provided with modulation/demodulation means in accordance with a time-division multiplex access mode in place of said modulation/demodulation means in accordance with code division multiplex access mode.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 135 words
A mobile communication apparatus, wherein a personal station (6) can access to either of a coexisting cellular automobile telephone system (1, 2, 3) and micro cellular system (4, 5), wherein: having said personal station perform communications in a digital form; connecting said personal station to said cellular mobile telephone system and said micro cellular system in a time-division multiplex access mode; setting a number of small zones included in a frequency repeating unit of said cellular automobile telephone system larger than a technically possible minimum value; setting a common frequency band to be used by said cellular automobile telephone system and said micro cellular system; and assigning said personal station accessing to said micro cellular system a radio channel which is not being used by said cellular automobile telephone system located near said personal station.
