Abstract
Abstract To a vehicle seat there is connected an air bag impact protection unit to cater for an impact against the side of the vehicle, the inflated air bag of which unit is situated between the head/neck of the occupant and the immediately adjacent side structure of the vehicle. To ensure that the centre of the air bag is outside the head area of the occupant while the bag is inflating, in the case of a vehicle seat having a head support which is built into the back rest, the air bag container is arranged on the lateral surface of the vehicle seat in the region of transition between the back rest and the head support. <IMAGE>
