Abstract

Abstract The disc player accommodates a plurality of CD-I discs (2), to each of which program data required to reproduce information on the disc is recorded at a predetermined area thereof. The disc player has a disc changer (1) to selectively supply each CD-I disc to a reproducing unit (3). The method of reproducing information of the disc player includes the steps of: reading the program data from the CD-I disc, and writing the read program data into a memory (23), with respect to all of the CD-I discs accommodated in the disc changer; and performing a reproduction operation with reference to the program data written in the memory at the time of the reproduction operation of the information on the CD-I disc.

Claim 1
Independent Claim 123 words
A method of reproducing information of a disc player accommodating a plurality of CD-I discs, to each of which program data required to reproduce information on the disc is recorded at a predetermined area thereof, said disc player having a disc changer (1) to selectively supply each CD-I disc to a reproducing unit (3), characterized in that said method comprises the steps of: reading the program data from the CD-I disc, and writing the read program data into a memory (23), with respect to all of the CD-I discs accommodated in said disc changer; and performing a reproduction operation with reference to the program data written in said memory at the time of the reproduction operation of the information on the CD-I disc.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 32 words
A method according to claim 1, characterized in that the program data comprises data indicating a title and a reproduction starting address of each piece of the information included in the disc.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 34 words
A method according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the program data is read form each of the CD-I discs at the time of injecting a power supply to said disc player.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 143 words
A disc player comprising a reproducing unit (3) for reproducing information recorded on a CD-I disc, to which program data required to reproduce the information is recorded at a predetermined area thereof, characterized in that said disc player further comprises; a disc changer (1) for accommodating a plurality of CD-I discs and selectively supply each CD-I disc to said reproducing unit; a memory (23) for storing the program data; and a controller (22a) for controlling said reproducing unit to read the program data from the CD-I disc and writing the read program data into said memory, with respect to all of the CD-I discs accommodated in said disc changer, and for performing a reproduction operation of said reproducing unit with reference to the program data written in said memory at the time of the reproduction operation of the information on the CD-I disc.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 46 words
A disc player according to claim 4, characterized in that said disc player further comprises a CD-I data processing unit (10) for processing the reproduced program data and the information of the CD-I disc to generate audio data and video data corresponding to the program data.
Claim 6
Independent Claim 128 words
A method of reproducing information of a disc player accommodating a plurality of first format discs (4), each of which stores program information by a first format, and at least one second format disc (2), which stores program information name data of each of the first format discs by a second format different from the first format, and reproducing the program information, characterized in that said method comprises the steps of: reading the program information name data from the second format disc and storing the program information name data into a memory (23); selecting one of the first format discs to be reproduced; and displaying the program information name data corresponding to the selected first format disc before reproducing the program information of the selected first format disc.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 32 words
A method according to claim 6, characterized in that said disc player comprises a music accompaniment playing apparatus, and a title of music to be reproduced is displayed in the displaying step.
