Process for the manufacture of copper phthalocyanine compositions in alpha form
Abstract
<IMAGE> Copper phthalocyanine pigments and pigment preparations in the .alpha.-phase are produced with phase transformation from crude copper phthalocyanine pigments in the .beta.-phase in an environmentally friendly and economical manner by a) firstly in an aqueous, preferably neutral to alkaline medium on a stirred ball mill with a power density of more than 2.5 kW per liter of grinding chamber and an agitator peripheral speed of more than 12 m / s is operated, wet-ground under the action of grinding media with a diameter of less than 1 mm under phase-changing conditions, then, b) either the prepigment composition b1) obtained according to a) in the form of the millbase suspension thus obtained; or, b2) after adding an organic solvent to the millbase suspension obtained according to a); or, b3) in the case of intermediate isolation of the prepigment or the prepigment composition, after prior resumption in an inert organic solvent, is subjected to a finishing treatment at elevated temperature, and c) the isolated pigment or pigment preparation is then isolated. <IMAGE>
