Abstract
Abstract A thermally conductive, electrically insulative pressure sensitive adhesive is provided. The adhesive comprises a (1) polymer prepared from an alkyl acrylate or methacrylate having from 1 to 12 carbons in the alkyl group and a polar comonomer, and (2) from 20 to 400 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the monomers of thermally conductive, electrically insulative particles. The particles are randomly dispersed throughout the polymer. The adhesive may be provided in the form of a transfer tape.

A thermally conductive, electrically insulative pressure sensitive adhesive comprising (a) a polymer prepared from a monomer mixture containing (i) an alkyl acrylate or methacrylate having 1 to 12 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, and (ii) a polar monomer that is copolymerizable with the alkyl acrylate or methacrylate, and (b) from about 20 to about 400 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the monomer mixture of thermally conductive, electrically insulative particles, randomly dispersed throughout the polymer.
