Abstract

Abstract An inspection device (51) comprises a body (53) having a connector insertion opening (61) for inserting a connector (C) into the device. The body (53) holds a continuity inspector for inspecting the continuity of the terminals in contact relation therewith when the connector (C) is inserted into the connector insertion opening (61). An arm member (55) is supported by the body (53) in turn free state. The arm member (55) comprises an engaging portion (99) for engaging and holding the connector (C) inserted into the connector insertion opening (61). The inspection device (51) further comprises a spring (65) for forcing the arm member (55) in the direction to engage the engaging portion (99) with the connector (C) and a solenoid (57) for moving the arm member (55) against the spring force of the spring (105) in the direction to release the engagement of the engaging portion with the connector (C).

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 139 words
An inspection device for inspecting the continuity of the terminals connected to the end of wires in a connector comprising: a body having a connector insertion opening for inserting said connector therein; a continuity inspector held by said body for inspecting the continuity of said terminals in contact relation therewith when said connector is inserted into said connector insertion opening; a connector supporting member supported by said body, said connector supporting member includes an engaging portion for engaging and holding said connector inserted into said connector insertion opening; first urging means for urging said connector supporting member in the direction to engage said engaging portion with said connector; and activating means for moving said connector supporting member against the spring force of said forcing means in the direction to release the engagement of said engaging portion with said connector.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 44 words
An inspection device according to Claim 1, wherein said continuity inspector is supported by said body in a slidable manner, said continuity inspector includes a continuity detecting members contacting said terminals; and second urging means for urging said continuity detecting members toward said terminals.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 19 words
An inspection device according to Claim 2, wherein said continuity detecting member includes a detecting portion contacting said terminal.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 16 words
An inspection device according to Claim 2, wherein said second forcing means includes a compression spring.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 47 words
An inspection device according to Claim 1, wherein said connector insertion opening includes an accommodating chamber for receiving said connector, said accommodating chamber is enough in depth to keep the rear end of said connector outside thereof when said connector is inserted into said connector insertion opening.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 46 words
An inspection device according to Claim 1, wherein said connector supporting member includes an arm which is rotatably supported by said body at the central portion thereof, said arm has a first end with said engaging portion and a second end opposed to said first end.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 46 words
An inspection device according to Claim 6, wherein said first urging means includes a compression spring for urging said second end of said arm, said activating means includes a solenoid for moving said second end of said arm against the spring force of said compression spring.
