Abstract

Abstract In the booster (20) of a cellular radio telephone (20) the diversity reception is arranged so that the quality, e.g. the level, of the received and amplified (Rx1, Rx2) signal is detected (A1, A2), the better signal is selected by a logic (DP), and the selected better signal is connected (SWb) to the connection (C1) of the cellular radio telephone's antenna cable (AC). The arrangement includes a circuit (TF, DP) for receiving timing information from the cellular radio telephone in order to synchronize the operation of the cellular radio telephone and the booster.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 87 words
A diversity reception arrangement for a cellular radio telephone booster having two antennas wherein the arrangement comprises means for determining the quality of individual signals received by each antenna, means for selecting the better of the received signals, and means for transmitting the selected signal to a cellular radio telephone through an antenna cable, characterized in that the arrangement comprises means for receiving signal frame timing information supplied from the cellular radio telephone in order to synchronize the operation of the cellular radio telephone and the booster.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 22 words
An arrangement according to claim 1, which operates in a digital system, in which the signals are transmitted as digital data bursts.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 26 words
An arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the frame synchronization information is received from the antenna cable signal by filtering the timing from the transmission burst.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 28 words
An arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the frame synchronization information is received from the antenna cable by filtering from the signal a low frequency component superimposed thereon.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 25 words
An arrangement according to claim 2, 3 or 4, wherein that said signal quality is detected at the beginning of each received radio signal burst.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 16 words
The use of an arrangement according to any previous claim in a cellular radio telephone network.
