Connector for flat ribbon cable
Abstract
The invention relates to a connector for ribbon cables (3) with an upper housing part (1) made of insulating material, in which a number of parallel guide channels (4) for contact elements with insulation displacement terminals (5) and a transverse slot (2) penetrating the guide channels for the ribbon cable (3 ) are arranged, and with a lower housing part (10) made of insulating material, in which a number of parallel guide channels (11) for contact elements are also arranged. In order to create an easy-to-assemble connector in which as many contacts as possible can be accommodated in a confined space and reliably contacted with one another, it is proposed that the insulation-piercing terminals (5) of the contact elements in the housing upper part (1) are made in one piece with flat knives lying in the same plane ( 6) are connected that the contact elements in the lower housing part (10) are designed as fork spring contacts (12) and are arranged at right angles to the flat knives (6) and that the flat knives (6) and fork spring contacts (12) are in one of the housing upper and -bottom (1.10) formed contact channel (14) overlap and contact.
