Wound dressing having a roll configuration

Claim 2

The wound dressing product (10) of claim 1 wherein said hydrogel layer (20) is adhesively secured to said backing layer (18).

Claim 3

The wound dressing product (10) of claim 1 further comprising a cylindrical core positioned such that said center axis (22) generally passes through said cylindrical core.

Claim 4

The wound dressing product (10) of claim 1 wherein the leading end (24) of said wound dressing laminate (12) further includes a release liner strip (26) disposed on said second side (16) of said wound dressing laminate (12) to facilitate unwrapping of said wound dressing laminate (12).

Claim 5

The wound dressing product (10) of claim 1 wherein said wound dressing laminate (12) further comprises a reticulated foam layer (28) impregnated with a hydrogel material, said reticulated foam layer (28) being interposed between said backing layer (18) and said hydrogel layer (20) of said wound dressing laminate (12).

Claim 6

The wound dressing product (10) of claim 5 wherein said wound dressing laminate (12) further comprises a bonding layer (30) for securing said reticulated foam layer (28) to said backing layer (18).

Claim 7

The wound dressing product (10) of claim 1 wherein said backing layer (18) is made from a material which prevents the transmission of bacteria.

Claim 8

The wound dressing product (10) of claim 1 wherein said hydrogel layer (20) is formed of a hydrogel material comprising: (a) from about 15% to about 30% by weight polyhydric alcohol; (b) from about 8% to about 14% by weight isophoronediisocyanate terminated prepolymer; (c) from about 5% to about 10% by weight polyethylene oxide based diamine; (d) up to about 1% by weight sodium chloride; and (e) the balance water.

Claim 9

The wound dressing product (10) of claim 1 wherein said hydrogel layer (20) is formed of a hydrogel material comprising: (a) from about 0% to about 90% by weight polyhydric alcohol; (b) from about 6% to about 60% by weight isophoronediisocyanate terminated prepolymer; (c) from about 4% to about 40% by weight polyethylene oxide based diamine; (d) up to about 2% by weight sodium chloride; and (e) the balance water.

Claim 10

A wound dressing product (10), comprising: a wound dressing laminate (12) having a first side (14) and a second side (16), said wound dressing laminate (12) comprising a backing layer (18) made from a material which prevents the transmission of bacteria, said backing layer (18) having a first side (14) and a second side (16) wherein said first side (14) of said backing layer (18) forms said first side (14) of said wound dressing laminate (12); a bonding layer (30) coated on said second side (16) of said backing layer (18); a reticulated foam layer (28) impregnated with a hydrogel material having a first and a second side( 27,29), said first side (14) of said reticulated foam layer (28) being secured to said bonding layer (30); and a hydrogel layer (20) comprising said hydrogel material overlying said second side (16) of said reticulated foam layer (28), said hydrogel layer (20) forms said second side (16) of said wound dressing laminate (12); said wound dressing laminate (12) being spirally wrapped about a center axis (22) such that said first side (14) of said wound dressing laminate (12) forms the outer surface of said wound dressing product (10).

Claim 11

The wound dressing product (10) of claim 10 wherein said hydrogel material comprises: (a) from about 0% to about 90% by weight polyhydric alcohol; (b) from about 6% to about 60% by weight isophoronediisocyanate terminated prepolymer; (c) from about 4% to about 40% by weight polyethylene oxide based diamine; (d) up to about 2% by weight sodium chloride; and (e) the balance water.

Claim 12

A wound dressing product (10) comprising: a wound dressing laminate (12) having a first side (14) and a second side (16), said wound dressing laminate (12) comprising a plurality of layers including a transparent bacterial barrier layer (18) having a first side (14) and a second side (16), said first side (14) of said bacterial barrier layer (18) forms said first side (14) of said wound dressing laminate (12); and a transparent hydrogel layer (20) overlying said second side (16) of said bacterial barrier layer (18) which forms said second side (16) of said wound dressing laminate (12); said wound dressing laminate (12) being spirally wrapped about a center axis (22) such that said first side (14) of said wound dressing laminate (12) forms the outer surface of said wound dressing product (10).

Claim 13

The wound dressing product (10) of claim 12 further comprising a cylindrical core positioned such that said center axis (22) passes through said cylindrical core.

Claim 14

The wound dressing product (10) of claim 12 wherein said wound dressing laminate (12) further comprises a scrim layer impregnated with a transparent hydrogel material, said scrim layer being interposed between said bacterial barrier layer (18) and said hydrogel layer (20).

Claim 15

The wound dressing product (10) of claim 14 wherein said wound dressing laminate (12) further includes a transparent bonding layer (30) for securing said scrim layer to said bacterial barrier layer (18).

Claim 16

The wound dressing product (10) of claim 12 wherein said bacterial barrier layer (18) is made from a polyurethane material.

Claim 17

The wound dressing product (10) of claim 12 wherein said hydrogel layer (20) is formed of a transparent hydrogel material comprising: (a) from about 0% to about 90% by weight polyhydric alcohol; (b) from about 6% to about 60% by weight isophoronediisocyanate terminated prepolymer; (c) from about 4% to about 40% by weight polyethylene oxide based diamine; (d) up to about 2% by weight sodium chloride; and (e) the balance water.

Claim 18

The wound dressing product (10) of claim 12 further comprising a release liner (26) releasably secured to said second side (16) of said wound dressing laminate (12).

Claim 19

A wound dressing product (10) comprising: a wound dressing laminate (12) having a first side (14) and a second side (16), said wound dressing laminate (12) comprising a plurality of layers including a transparent bacterial barrier layer (18) having a first side (14) and a second side (16(, wherein said first side (14) of said bacterial barrier layer (18) forms said first side (14) of said wound dressing laminate (12); a transparent bonding layer (30) coated on said second side (16) of said backing layer (18); a scrim layer impregnated with a transparent hydrogel material having a first and a second side (14,16), said first side (14) of said scrim layer being secured to said bonding layer (30); and a transparent hydrogel layer (20) made from said hydrogel material overlying said second side (16) of said scrim layer, said hydrogel layer (20) forms said second side (16) of said wound dressing laminate( 12); a release liner (26) releasably secured to said hydrogel layer; said wound dressing laminate (12) being spirally wrapped about a center axis (22) such that said first side (14) of said wound dressing laminate (12) forms the outer surface of said wound dressing product (10).

The wound dressing product (10) of claim 19 wherein said hydrogel material comprises: (a) from about 0% to about 90% by weight polyhydric alcohol; (b) from about 6% to about 60% by weight isophoronediisocyanate terminated prepolymer; (c) from about 4% to about 40% by weight polyethylene oxide based diamine; (d) up to about 2% by weight sodium chloride; and (e) the balance water.
