Abstract Translated from German Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Reinigung von Indigo, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß aus der bei der Synthese anfallenden wäßrig alkalischen Indoxylatlösung vor ihrer Oxidation zu Indigo unter Sauerstoffausschluß durch Destillation oder durch Einleiten von Wasserdampf oder Inertgas Verunreinigungen gestrippt werden und der anschließend durch Oxidation der gestrippten Indoxylatlösung anfallende Indigo mit verdünnter Wasserstoffperoxidlösung behandelt wird.
