Abstract A hierarchised protocol manages the communications between on the one hand equipment defining communication stations of Master type (M) dedicated to information transmission, and on the other hand equipment defining communication stations of Master-Slave type (ME1, ME2) dedicated to the reception of information output by the stations of Master type and to the transmission of information intended for sets of equipment defining stations of Slave type (E1, E2) dedicated to the reception of information and of control data output by one or more of the said stations of Master-Slave type (ME1, ME2), and to the transmission of information about their state. Application to the communication of information between equipment of a high tech domestic installation. <IMAGE>
