Vertebral implant
Abstract
A disc (11) is proposed as an implant for spinal columns, which can be used alone or in a stack (11 to 14) between vertebral bodies. Individual slices are cut from a strand as required, and the slice thickness can be adapted to the individual case. These implants are particularly suitable for cervical vertebrae and as replacements after the removal of intervertebral discs. A corresponding assortment of disks can be provided for the formation of an implant from several disks stacked on top of one another, which differ both in diameter and in height. For the respective application, discs with a corresponding thickness are accordingly selected and assembled, so that overall they give the required height of the implant. Screw connections and in particular longer manipulations in the inserted state of the implant are not necessary with the implant according to the invention.
