Abstract In a traffic surveillance device for use in a surveillance vehicle with a device for quantitative detection and recording of measured data of a vehicle under surveillance, in particular for detecting the speed of this vehicle, the measured data are simultaneously connected to a device for the acoustic reproduction of the data, for example a voice synthesiser. As a result, the work of the police officers carrying out the surveillance is to be made easier so that they can simultaneously dedicate themselves to other tasks, for example to driving a surveillance vehicle. <IMAGE>
