Abstract

Abstract A computer casing (10), in particular a drawer-type casing (12), is described, having a door-like access cover (24) for a data-storage drive (34), the door-like access cover (24) comprising an essentially rectangular panel which is hinged to the computer casing parallel to one edge of the rectangle and can be latched or locked (56) on another edge, in particular the opposite edge. According to the invention, the data-storage drive or the like is housed by an essentially flat, rectangular box (34), the insert slit (60) for the storage medium, such as a floppy disk, being provided on the side (40) remote from the hinged side and is therefore accessible even when the door-like cover (34) is open only slightly, while on the other hand this gap is protected against dust and the like as well as against unauthorised use when the door-like cover (24) is closed. The door-like cover may also bear additionally, or only, an operator-control or display panel (42). <IMAGE>
