Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim
59 words
A process for producing high molecular weight polyethers having alkoxysilane terminated end groups which comprises (a) coupling together two allyl-started monols each having a molecular weight from 1,500 to 10,000 wherein the coupling reactant is selected from the group consisting of halogenated methanes, aliphatic isocyanates, aromatic isocyanates and carbonates; and (b) thereafter hydrosilating the coupled polyether with an alkoxysilane.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
21 words
The process of claim 1 wherein the alkoxysilane is selected from the group consisting of trimethoxysilane, methyldimethoxysilane, methyldiethoxysilane, triethoxysilane and vinyltrimethoxysilane.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
20 words
The process of claim 1 or 2 wherein the allyl-started monol has a molecular weight of from 4,000 to 8,000.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
19 words
The process of any of claims 1-3 wherein the allyl-started monol is produced using a double metal cyanide complex.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim

The process of claim 4 wherein the complex is zinc hexacyanocobaltate.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
16 words
The process of any of claims 1-5 wherein methylene chloride is employed as the coupling reactant.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
17 words
The process of any of claims 1-5 wherein an aromatic isocyanate is employed as the coupling reactant.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
13 words
The process of claim 7 wherein bis-(4-isocyanatophenyl)methane is employed as the coupling reactant.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
16 words
The process of any of claims 1-5 wherein a carbonate is employed as the coupling reactant.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
17 words
The process of any of claims 1-5 wherein an aliphatic isocyanate is employed as the coupling reactant.
