Abstract

Abstract In the case of a vehicle equipped with air suspension and height control, mechanical actuating elements are provided for the purpose of deliberately raising and lowering the vehicle body, which elements act on the level adjusting valve (7) of the system in order to ventilate or bleed one or more of the air suspension bellows (1, 3) irrespective of the load state. In order to perform ventilation and bleeding without any delay, that is without throttling by the pipe cross section of the level adjusting valve (7), the outlet (21) of the level adjusting valve is connected to the control connection (49) of a relay valve (47), which is located in a pipe connection between the level adjusting valve and the air suspension bellows (1, 3). By means of a slide valve (27) the section of pipe containing the relay valve can be directly connected to the air suspension bellows (1, 3) whenever the level adjusting valve is actuated, so that ventilating or bleeding of the air suspension bellows is performed without delay via the large cross section of the relay valve. <IMAGE>
