Abstract
Abstract A disc-shaped recording medium (32) has compressed audio data recording therein. The inner diameter (dI) of a data recording region (RA) is set to a value in a range of 28 to 50 mm. The outer diameter (dO) of the data recording region is set to a value corresponding to the inner diameter such that, for the lower limit value of 28 mm for the inner diameter the outer diameter is in the range of 58 to 62 mm, whereas for the upper limit value of 50 mm for the inner diameter the outer diameter is in the range of 71 to 73 mm.

A disc-shaped recording medium (32, 100) in which compressed audio data are recorded by optical means, characterised in that the inner diameter (dI) of a data recording region (RA) of the medium is set to a predetermined value within a range of 28 to 50 mm, and the outer diameter (dD) of the data recording region (RA) is such that, for an inner diameter (dI) of the data recording region (RA) of 28 mm the outer diameter (dO) is in a range of from 58 to 62 mm and for an inner diameter (dI) of the data recording region (RA) of 50 mm the outer diameter (dD) is in a range of from 71 to 73 mm.
