Claim 1
Independent Claim 111 words
A fiber optic interconnect assembly to interconnect first and second optical fiber cables terminated with corresponding first and second plug connectors, characterised by; a coupler (13) having external slotted sleeves (23) surrounding sockets (20), and latching nubs (31) on the slotted sleeves (23) for bayonet type connection to first plug connectors, and an adapter assembly (15) having a receptacle housing (18) surrounding receptacles (17) with catch pieces (40) for connection to second plug connectors, and slotted sleeves (38) partly within the sockets (20) of the receptacles (17) and partly within sockets (36) of the receptacles (17) and constructed to receive the first and second connector plugs in alignment end to end
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 55 words
A fiber optic interconnect assembly as recited in claim 1, further characterised by; an insert (14) having a guide port (56) surrounding the receptacle housing (18), and having pins (60) holding the coupler (13) and the adapter assembly (15), and a front plate (7) of an outlet (2) to which the insert (14) is secured.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 46 words
A fiber optic interconnect assembly as recited in claim 1, further characterised by; the insert having chamfers (64) on a forward face (58) of the insert (14), and resilient latching beams (9) of the outlet (2) latched to the insert (14) rearward of the chamfers (64).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 50 words
A fiber optic interconnect assembly as recited in claim 1, 2 or 3, further characterised by; a base (19) of the coupler (13) interengaging a base (45) of the receptacle housing (18), and the base (19) of the coupler (13) interengaging a base (34) of each of the receptacles (17).
