Abstract Translated from French Procédé de teinture des fibres kératiniques, en particulier des fibres kératiniques humaines telles que les cheveux, caractérisé par le fait qu'on applique sur ces fibres une composition contenant dans un milieu approprié pour la teinture, au moins le coupleur 4-hydroxyindole, ainsi que les sels de ce composé; au moins un précurseur de colorant d'oxydation; au moins un agent oxydant; le pH de la composition appliquée sur les fibres étant inférieur à 7. Process for dyeing keratin fibers, in particular human keratin fibers such as the hair, characterized in that a composition is applied to these fibers containing, in a medium suitable for dyeing, at least the 4-hydroxyindole coupler, as well as the salts of this compound; at least one oxidation dye precursor; at least one oxidizing agent; the pH of the composition applied to the fibers being less than 7.
