Abstract

Abstract The present invention relates to an improved system of ghost compensation in video signals, comprising one or more filters, the characterising principles of the invention consist in the fact that it provides a first functioning mode in which it operates on a highly elevated number of filter coefficients, and a second functioning mode in which it operates on a highly reduced number of said coefficients, appropriately selectioned.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 58 words
Improved system of ghost compensation in video signals, comprising one or more filters, characterised by the fact that it provides a first functioning mode (slow) in which it operates on a highly elevated number (256) of filter coefficients, and a second functioning mode (running) in which it operates on a highly reduced number of said coefficients, appropriately selectioned.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 55 words
Improved system of ghost compensation in video signals, comprising one or more filters, according to claim 1, characterised by the fact that said highly reduced number of coefficients is selectioned during the first functioning mode (slow) by means of a coefficient number reducing device (DRNA), which orders the coefficients and memorizes the more significant ones.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 44 words
Improved system of ghost compensation in video signals, comprising one or more filters, according to claim 1, characterised by the fact that said highly elevated number of coefficients is higher than 255, and that said highly reduced number of coefficients is lower that 4.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 47 words
Improved system of ghost compensation in video signals, comprising one or more filters, according to claim 1, characterised by the fact that said system provides a circuit comprising a first branch (forward) comprising an I.I.R. type filter, and a second branch (backward) comprising a F.I.R. type filter.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 49 words
Improved system of ghost compensation in video signals, comprising one or more filters, according to claim 4, characterised by the fact that said I.I.R. type filter, as well as said F.I.R. type filter during said second functioning mode (running) each operate on only three of said appropriately selectioned coefficients.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 32 words
Improved system of ghost compensation in video signals, comprising one or more filters, according to claim 1, characterised by the fact that said system provides a circuit comprising more F.I.R. type filters.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 36 words
Improved system of ghost compensation in video signals, comprising one or more filters, according to claim 1, characterised by the fact that it is realized at least in part important, through an A.S.I.C. type integrated circuit.
