Abstract The present invention relates to a space telecommunications system comprising at least one multibeam transmission antenna (10) and one multibeam reception antenna (11) demarcating adjacent or non-adjacent geographical zones (Zi) in respect of each of the transmitted and received beams, these antennas being arranged on a satellite (12) and at least one of the transmission (10) or reception (11) antennas being reconfigurable.
