Method for making a brake lining wear warning apparatus
Abstract
Abstract The invention relates to a brake lining wear warning apparatus and a method for making it. The object is to specify a simple method for making a multistage brake lining wear warning apparatus which is distinguished by such small production tolerances that the warning points lie in acceptable tolerance bands. In principle, a two-stage method is proposed as the solution, in which an insertion part (44) is made first, preferably by injection moulding, and is provided with an electrical conductor (17). The unit, consisting of the insertion part (44) and electrical conductor (17), is subsequently encased, preferably by extrusion-coating. In one preferred embodiment, a two-stage brake lining wear warning apparatus has two electrical conductors (17) in loops with a different extent. The conductors are each provided with an electrical resistor (42, 43) so that, in conjunction with an electrical circuit, cable connections between the brake and warning indicator are saved. <IMAGE>
