Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 15
Claim 1
Independent Claim
64 words
A method of providing feedback information indicative of the status of a multiple access channel between a group of terminals and a central station , comprising the step of: forwarding on said access channel, from said central station to said terminals, an information code indicative of the status of said channel and of the outcome of the last terminal to central station message transmission.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
20 words
A method as defined in claim 1 wherein said information code provides an indication of whether said channel is idle.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
36 words
A method as defined in claim 2, wherein said information code further provides an indication of whether data collision between data transmission of one terminal and data transmission of another terminal has occurred on said channel.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
28 words
A method as defined in claim 3, wherein said information code further provides an indication of whether data was successfully transmitted from said terminals to said central station.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
24 words
A method as defined in claim 4, wherein said code includes information to identify which of said group of terminals has successfully transmitted information.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
26 words
A method as defined in claim 5, wherein said code further includes information to acknowledge to one of said group of terminals that transmission was successful.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
28 words
A method as defined in claim 6, wherein said code further includes an indication that the next time slot is reserved for a terminal with a successful transmission.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
17 words
A method as defined in claim 7, wherein said information code is forwarded via a radio channel.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
16 words
A method as defined in claim 8, wherein said radio channel is a cellular radio channel.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
16 words
A method as defined in claim 8, wherein said radio channel is a satellite radio channel.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
16 words
A method as defined in claim 8, wherein said radio channel is a packet radio channel.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim
18 words
A method as defined in claim 7, wherein said information code is forwarded via a wire based channel.
Claim 13
Independent Claim
25 words
A method as defined in any of the claims 1 to 12, wherein said information code is transmitted in every central station to terminal transmission.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim
43 words
A communication system comprising a central station, a group of terminals and a multiple access communication channel between said central station and said terminals, wherein a transmission protocol is implemented which employs a method according to one of the claims 1 to 13.
Claim 15
Dependent Claim
40 words
A communication system as defined in claim 13, wherein said access channel comprises a forward channel for transmitting information from said central station to said terminals and a reverse channel for transmitting information from said channels to said central station.
