Abstract

Abstract A joint part prosthesis, especially for a finger joint, comprises a bearing member which has a bearing surface and which is in the form of a thin-walled shell element (11) made of high-strength metallic material, on whose reverse there is formed a shaft (12) to be embedded in the bone. The shell element (11) has a thickness of at most approximately 1 mm, preferably at most 0.5 mm, and a high-polished bearing surface simulating the natural form. The reverse of the shell element (11) and the surface of the shaft (12) are roughened in order to provide a better grip to the embedding cement. <IMAGE>
