Abstract

2.1 A known device does not take into account the influence of the fuel boiling pressure during the measurement, so that the device works imprecisely. 2.2 The new device therefore has the features that a fixed difference is provided for the pressure change, that the piston movement occurring during this pressure change is detected by a displacement transducer and evaluated as a measure of the tank space filled with fuel. 2.3 The new device enables the level to be measured close to the fuel boiling pressure with short measuring times. The new device enables z. B. as part of an on-board diagnosis, a test of the fuel tank tightness.
